Q: My Cadillac Seville does not stay on after I start it

asked by on

I have recently changed the spark plugs, spark wires and the car turned on fine and took me a couple miles away from my house than it didn't wanna start until my buddy sprayed starter fluid in the carb and once he would let off the car would die. So I had it towed and replaced the fuel pump and it still does not stay on it just dies unless I continue to spray starter fluid in it what's wrong is it my carburator?

My car has 150000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
