Q: Charging system

asked by on March 29, 2017

My honda civic had been having issues with the battery, and I took it to Autozone to test alternator and it was malfunctioning I was told. It was draining my battery. I also noticed my A.C was not working properly, it wasn't turning off, despite me turning off the switch in the inside. When my alternator was replaced, it seemed that is was functioning properly. A week later after alternator is replaced I woke up to a dead battery. My car wouldn't turn on, but the day before, I had turned on my A.C for a little bit. Could a malfunction of the A.C. system be causing my battery to drain? Please advice.

My car has 150000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Your ABS/parking brake lights are probably indicating multiple problems Check the simple possibilities first like the brake fluid level (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/brake-fluid-is-leaking-inspection) and the brake lights working (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/brake-light-is-not-working-inspection). Every time I accelerate I hear air either being sucked in or blown out from somewhere under the hood.
Hello. Rushing air noises during acceleration could be considered a normal part of operation. Even more so with high displacement engines, that rapidly ingest and move a lot of air and gases both through the intake and exhaust systems. If...

OK my car was stalling out so I started checking the obvious battery alternator plugs wires not the problem
Start by checking power to the relay. If there is no power to the relay this would suggest you have either a bad wiring problem to the relay or potentially a bad ECU driver that supplies the power to the...
Engine won't run - 2012 Buick Lacrosse

Hi there. If you recently replaced your battery, but the vehicle won't start unless you "bump start", it's possible that your battery cables are damaged. Once the motor starts, power to all components is supplied by the alternator. I'd have...
