My 2008 Highlander started to overheat today. There was little coolant so I added some 50/50 and suspected the cooling fan is not working. Called auto zone and they said to find the coolant temp sensor and to unplug it, and if fan kicks in then I know it's the sensor. I did this, fan never kicked in. Turned on air conditioning, fan still never kicked on. We looked at the fuse box and took out the fam relay to inspect. It didn't look burned out. We unplugged something else connected to the fan but plugged back in. Car was running, no fan working, and now VSC light is on and check engine light on as well. I tried to start the car tonight and it is barely idling and when I put in drive it won't accelerate. what to do now?
My car has an automatic transmission.
