My ford has a big block 390... the belts start to squeal at different times... sometimes right when I start the car. Other times after the motor Gets hot.. it comes and goes... the other issues is it seem the motor runs hot...If I’m stopped the temp gauge starts to peg...I was having a vapor lock problem. The car would stall.. then I would have to wait about 10 minutes or so to cool down..but never overheated like with fluid pouring out ect. But I wrapped the fuel lines in a thermal sleeve and moved/replaced the plastic fuel filter then routed the fuel hose away from the engine block. Temp seem fine when I’m driving..the car runs with no problem..but if I have to stop for any reason .. say for a stop light or traffic.. the cars starts to get hot.. I installed a helper electric fan but seem to help a little.. I have to put the car in park and rev the motor to keep the temp down. If leave it in drive the motor starts surge and sputter. Then belts will squeal again..
My car has an automatic transmission.
