Q: Misfiring?

asked by on June 29, 2017

Hello, I have a 2009 Dodge Journey with 120,620 miles on it. Recently I have been noticing my car has had a very hard time accelerating and when I do my car always jolts and I hear kind of a clicking noise. Almost like I'm shifting gears but I'm not. I also have been smelling gas when I turn on my car. I recently had a check engine code come up that said it was misfiring. The mechanic wasn't sure what was going on without further investigation. My car isn't worth much money so I don't want to put a ton in only for it to last me a few months. Any advice you have would be much appreciated. Thank you.

My car has 120620 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
