Q: Mg 1999 nissian quest acted weird and makes a clicking sound when i reverse what does that mean check engine light is on

I was on thw highway and the van started being funny like not accelerating right i pulled off and at the stop sign it didnt want to go so i left it for a bit and now when i reverse it makes a clanking sound check engine light is on
