Q: Master window lock feature quit working.

asked by on

Master window lock feature quit working.

My car has 130000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hey there. The power window lock out is controlled by the drivers door window switch. The signal for the lock goes through the body control module (BCM) to signal the other windows switches to let the windows open or not. You will need to have the body control module scanned to see if the signals are going in and out of the BCM. The most common problem is the drivers window switch is not making contact due to water entry shorted it out. Have the window system inspected and replace the driver’s switch as needed.
