Q: Loose electrical wire that i dont know what it connects to.

asked by on

i recently got into an accident and upon replacing the bumper/headlight area on the passenger side, i came across a lose dangling electrical wire that i don't know what it goes to. it is under/around the windshield washer fluid tank. everything seems to be working except the horn.

My car has 78000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

It is hard to say what could have been damaged during the collision considering that certain parts are no longer in their correct position. If you say that everything else is working fine other than the horn, I would recommend looking into a wiring diagram for the horn. This should give you an idea of where the horn circuitry is routed on your vehicle. If you come to find out that the horn wires are routed near the washer fluid tank, it is likely that the wire you see is part of the horn circuit.
