Q: Long hesitation when starting

asked by on

Have a new battery and starter and truck has a long hesitation when starting it

My car has 180000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

You may have a fuel pump that is not able to hold fuel pressure to the injectors. You will need to get the fuel pressure checked to see if the fuel pressure is leaking down after shutting off the vehicle. If it is leaking down pressure then you will need to replace the suspect fuel pump and retest pressures.
