Q: Light saying don't go over 60 in my b m w

Light saying don't go over 60

My car has 150000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.

Hello, thank you for writing in. Typically the light that illuminates when the engine is limited is the "reduce power light". This light can illuminate for several reasons, and its purpose is to preserve the engine because a fault has been detected. If a warning light of any kind has illuminated, then there is a diagnostic troubleshooting code that has triggered. This happens when a system fails a test which the computer runs constantly. Without knowing the exact year and model it is difficult to say what the issue may be. The best thing to do at this point is have the vehicle scanned for diagnostic codes at a parts store or by a technician.
