Q: Leaking water pump

asked by on

The water pump in my car is leaking.

Hello. It is common for the water pump to randomly fail on this engine. If it is leaking then it needs to be replaced. I typically start by replacing the pump and then doing a cooling system pressure test to make sure that there are not any other underlying issues. If nothing comes up and if the engine was not overheated, then it should only need the pump. If you need to have your car serviced, consider YourMechanic, as a certified mechanic can come to your home or office to replace the water pump.
