Q: Key not turning

asked by on

The key won't turn in the ignition. It's possibly a bad ignition switch.

Hi, if the key won’t turn in the ignition then the tumblers inside or the key itself may be worn out. Debris can get lodged inside as well preventing the cylinder from rotating. A certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, would be able to inspect the lock cylinder for damage or debris and further diagnose why your key is not turning in the ignition.
