Q: Key not turning

asked by on

The key won't turn in the ignition.

The key itself needs to be checked to see if it’s worn out by using an alternate key. If the different key works okay, then the key should be replaced. If both keys will not turn the ignition, the key lock cylinder would need to be replaced with a new one. The system has an immobilizer which will need to be reprogrammed after the new one is installed. A factory authorized scanner will need to be used to reprogram the system. I recommend having a certified technician come take a look to diagnose and fix this ignition problem.
