Q: Key broke off in lock

asked by on

My key broke off in the lock, and I can't get it out.

Hi there. A broken key in a key hole is best handled by a locksmith. They have special tools to extract the broken piece that is lodged into your key cylinder. If you have a spare key, this is a good option for you. Alternatively, you can also have a certified mechanic from YourMechanic come to your location to replace the ignition lock assembly and have your keys reprogrammed to the new ignition assembly.
