Q: It's overheating. New pump, radiator, thermostat and reservoir cap

asked by on

When idling the gage goes up to the middle but when on interstate it climbs higher and check coolant comes on

My car has 138000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

You need to verify the coolant is full when the engine is cold. Open the reservoir and fill the reservoir to the fill the cold line. Do this only when it is cold. Sometimes you get air pockets when work is done and it takes time to get all the air out. Use 50/50 coolant premixed. If you still have issues after a couple days of topping the coolant off when the engine is cold, then call a mechanic to come inspect the overheating issue further.

From what you've described, the problem sounds like you are loosing oil pressure to the engine and the light and noise are indicating that there is a problem. The fact that you are full of oil tells me that the...

Q: Steering Column locked tight

My first instinct would be to suspect the shift interlock system. This system should only lock the wheel when the key is off. It does use a relay, actuator and signals from the PCM (powertrain control module) and the shift...
