Q: It bearly wanted to start up then I drove it for some minutes and it sounded nasty and turned off and didn't want to start

I was coming from a friend house and when I started my 2003 ram with about 149000 miles it nearly wanted to start up and you could hear a nasty noise and I drove for about 10 minutes the check Gages light turn on during the drive but it didn't seem like it was over heated it was just a little over to the heat side but as I made a turn to a street the wheel got hard and it turned off by itself and it wouldn't start at all I towed it to my house and the battery seemed to be working but it still won't start ,what could it be?
