Q: Is a Oil Filter Housing Repairable?

asked by on

I am planning to buy a cheap car and found a 1996 Honda Accord EX 2.7 V6 for $450, but it needs a oil filter housing. Is that easily repairable or not? I need to know if it's worth the money. I keep finding Oil Filter Housing Gaskets but I don't know if that's the same or not because it's just a circular flat price. They said it was $100 for the part but I can't find one anywhere.

My car has 220000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

The oil filter housing is mounted to the engine with a special shape oring. If the housing is damaged then it should be replaced however it does not go bad unless it got damaged.

Q: my coil spring is corroded and i want to buy the part but I can't identify the exact name of the part i know its a coil spring

You should get the new coil spring with the coil spring insulators. I would recommend replacing the front shocks and sway bar links with bushings at the same time.

Q: I have an aftermarket intake and it's reading 4.9 psi. Is that good or bad?

Hi there. An intake manifold should read 19 to 22 hg. This is 19 vacuum to 22 vacuum. If you are getting a psi reading, then there is either a turbo on your vehicle or the engine timing is out...
