Q: Intermittent humming/vibrating that correlates with vehicle speed in a 2003 Jeep Liberty.

asked by on September 26, 2017

There is an intermittent vibrating/humming sound on the front end that correlates with vehicle speed. The sound is worse when turning left, and more quiet when turning right - but I just had the front wheel hub assemblies replaced so it's not a wheel bearing. I can only hear it from inside the vehicle, not from the outside. I noticed the front drive-shaft has a little play in it, but the rear drive-shaft is solid... I'm wondering if the front drive-shaft needs to be replaced, or else what the cause of this noise might be. It gets worse if I drive longer.

My car has 143000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
