Q: Interior electrical issues

interior dome light on driver's side works in every position except when I push it in for single side use. In addition to my dome driver side light issue, the cigarette lighter outlet in the smaller front compartment is not working either. I did notice that whoever previously owned this vehicle, disconnected some wires through the trunk that appear to perhaps be aftermarket stereo connections that they disassembled, could that perhaps be where my problems with the light and cigarette lighter not working are coming from? I need help in figuring out the problem, what's your recommendations?
