Q: I was driving my car with low gas and I was accelerating a couple of times to get to the gas station the check engine soon pop up

Was driving with low gas and bunch of traffic and was accelerating sometimes to get to the gas station and while I was waiting in traffic the service engine light turned on and I put gas but still there you know why ?
