i think its a wheel bearing but when i drive, especially the faster i go, you can hear a whirling sound almost like it sounds as if the car is stuck in a high rpm mode
My car has an automatic transmission.

A bad wheel bearing or bearings, can make a loud humming sound to an almost grinding sound. The sound will change pitch and volume with speed and sometimes when the car is moved side to side, like when changing lanes on the highway. Unevenly worn tires can also produce a similar sound. If any of the tires have high and low spots - think making a fist with one hand and running your other hand over your knuckles - they can produce a noise than can be mistaken for bad wheel bearings. Usually when it’s the tires however, you can hear the noise outside the vehicle. Driving with windows open, you will hear the noise. Have a certified technician look into the bearing noise to find and correct the exact cause.
