Q: I replaced plugs wires coils crank pos sensor on 2000 e320 v6 it now runs smooth but shuts off abruptly after running short time

asked by on January 26, 2018

I replaced the plugs and wires and the ignition coils and the crank position sensor. When I restarted the car it ran fine for less than a minute and then shut down abruptly. Would start it back up, it ran rough and shut off abruptly. Then I would start it up again it would run smoothly for less than a minute and shut down abruptly again. I checked the order the plug wires going on the plugs I made sure the boots were all the way on the plugs all my connections were good. It never did this before I put on the new parts.

My car has 181000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
