so the car was making some noise and shaking a bit. this issue continued and the noise became louder but would fade in and out. on the way home one night, the abs light came on stating it was no longer in use and the car was making even louder noises. while it was able to reach home, a few days later, the noise was so jarring it was decided it couldnt make it the dealership for repairs so it was brought to the nearest mechanic down the street. we assumed it was an issue with the brakes and the tires, but the mechanic called us back to inform us that the front axle on the drivers side snapped when they tried to remove the tire for inspection. he said the axle was so bad that the tire shouldve popped off. that being said, with parts and labor, it cost 1100 even to fix. was this a fair price? im a little foggy on what he listed the repair as, but the abs light is still on the the speedometer does not work
