Q: I just realized I asked for a quote for an alternator, but that is my diagnosis of the car problem. Not sure if it is the problem.
The car wouldn't start, so I got the battery charged, and drove somewhere but never turned it off till later when I got back home. So it was on a long time. Then when I turned it off, it died again, and charging the battery didn't help again. So I assumed it is the alternator and asked you for an alternator quote. Can you check for something else?
