I have a 02' explorer took it to get the ac hose replaced because it was leaking. When i started it to go home it sounded as if something was hitting sounded like maybe the fan and smoke started coming out from under the hood. The mechanic had to remove some parts including the fan to remove the hose. Whem the smoke came out from under the hood he took a glace at it and said everything was fine nothing was loose. I drove it around the block and it was fine. I also drove 35+ miles home with the ac on. Everything was fine until the following day that the car started overheat after 10 minutes of being on with the ac on. Now days after i try turning on the car with the ac on and it turns off. Doesn't even start. I turn the ac off and the car turns on. I took it around the block I put it in reverse to back up into my parking space and it was good until i put it in drive again where it turned off on me again.
My car has an automatic transmission.
