Q: I have loss of power after 30mph, hard to shift.
My Jeep starts up fine. Has usual power and shifts great till around 30-40mph. Forward and reverse fine. It loses power and chuggs after 30..it will shift just gotta let off gas pedal. I can't get it past 50mph. The check engine light came on. I have a really bad exhaust..nothing past cat..and it rattles like crazy ..always has since I bought it a year ago..the exhaust manifold has a crack for sure in it... The truck whistle's at me now with the power issue. I first thought transmission, but I'm thinking something else maybe? Why do I lose power like this and is my Tranny bad? Going down highway I noticed weeks back till now, it would struggle to go faster, like get power!
