Q: I have a new radiator and my temperature arrow is still moving up. Have to drive with my heater on. Do I need a new water pump?

asked by on July 30, 2017

I'm having some problems with my car.

I got a new radiator, radiator cap and a thermostat 2 weeks ago. I also changed my coolant. My temperature arrow is still moving up sometimes when I drive. (Past the halfway mark.)

It does it especially when I drive up steep roads or make sharp turns on exit ramps.

I've been driving with my heater on full blast for the last few days to prevent my engine from overheating.

Every time I turn my car off, a little bit of liquid leaks from under my hood for a few minutes. I can't tell if it's coolant, oil or water.

Is there probably something wrong with my water pump or thermostat?

My car has 216800 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
