Q: I have a 98 mustang and the steering sticks past 10 and 2.

asked by on March 28, 2018

They guy I bought it from cut the coils to lower it and put after market tires on it. The power steering pump is full no leeks that I see. And when driving it's fine with lane changes it's just hard to turn onto other roads.

My car has 180000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Something is draining the battery.
I would look inside the car for an interior light that is coming on first. Usually a glove box light or a trunk light that is staying on when the car is off. If it's not a light then a...
Cruise control broken

Running lights and tail lights stay on when the engine is off and the key removed
Hello. It sounds like your time delay in the control module is not working. It may also be a short in the switch (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-headlight-switch) but that is not as likely. The retained power relay may be failing or the control...

The brake booster (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-brake-booster-vacuum-pump) is vacuum operated and only aids in the stopping force to the driver's foot pedal. If vacuum pressure drops, then the foot pedal feels very firm, just like stepping on...
While idling, the vehicle does not blow any hot air until the vehicle is moving.
This may suggest the thermostat is not opening and closing at the correct temperatures causing warm coolant to flow through the heater core. If this is the case, however you may also notice a fluctuation in engine temperature as well...
When I start the Jeep I hear a clicking noise once I turn the ignition , it wouldn't start til I pushed the accelerator
Hi There, It sounds like you may have a weak battery (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/battery-replacement) or potentially a faulty starter solenoid. Generally, pressing the accelerator makes no difference on today's modern vehicles due to the throttle by wire technology cars are equipped with....
Wipers won't stop when I use windshield washer fluid
It sounds like you may have a faulty wiper motor module (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/windshield-wiper-module-replacement) that is allowing the motor to continue beyond the allotted time when spraying the washer fluid. I would suggest having a professional from YourMechanic come to your location...
