Q: I have a 2009 altima automatic and unless i use the manual shift feature the RPMs tend to stay under 2000

asked by on April 27, 2017

I have a 2009 altima automatic and unless i use the manual shift feature the RPMs tend to stay under 2000 no mater how fast i am going. If i slam on the gas the RPM go up but they quickly settle back down to about 1100 . then if i accelerate the really never go above 2000 again unless i slam the gas again. I would figure with a 4 cylinder engine the rpms would be higher at higher speeds.

My car has 122000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

I just had my radiator replaced and it started and I drove five mins to store and it wouldn't start up back.
I think that there may be some misunderstanding about exactly what was done. Replacing a crankshaft would be a major operation that would cost thousands of dollars. So I think there might have been something else going on. I certainly...
