Q: I have a 2008 honda accord, its engine vibrates at dirve or reverse when stopping. What could possibly be the causes?

asked by on July 18, 2017

When in drive or revers with car stops at traffic light, engine vibrates and RPM lowered to ~600 if AC is on, or ~900 if AC is off with engine not vibrating. A repair shop replaced aftermarket sparkplugs, fuel line decarbonization, and factory tensioner and tensioner belt. Problem still persisted. Dealer technician checked and got advice from "honda hotline", to redo the already-done, plus valve adjustment. Then recheck. Next possible cause is engine motor mount but dealer technician wasn't confident since mount rubber seems to look fine. Honda hotline dismissed the idea of AC compressor as no-issue, although dealer and repair shop suspected AC compressor problem. Dealer said there are multiple problems, they will have to rule out one thing at a time (i.e. repair one thing at time and test until the problem disappears). Doesn't make sense to me.

What could be the common causes?
