asked by on April 13, 2017

I noticed when i start the car it start to shake and it feels like something isn't getting thru the engine (if that makes sense). I have to let it warm up for 5-10 min then it will run. Also when i go up a hill it feels too forced, and it heated a bit. I mentioned to bf so he put water and noticed trash coming out what could it be?

How do I inspect the seat belt?
It’s a smart safety precaution to inspect your seat belts every few months. It’s important to notice any potential damage to a seat belt early on, so that you can get it replaced. Even if a seat belt appears to...
Chattering noises coming from transmission
Hello. From the symptoms you've described it would appear to me that there may be an issue with the clutch disc or perhaps flywheel. If the contact surfaces of either are excessively worn it may cause intermittent chatter, as you...
Antifreeze emptying out fast
Hello. If this happened right after the work was done, then it is typically caused by a hose that is loose or the thermostat (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/thermostat-replacement) not being installed right. If you cannot see the leak, then the system will need...
How often should I change the drive belt
Hello. Your car was equipped with an EPDM-based (ethylene propylene diene monomer) serpentine belt that theoretically can last the lifetime of that vehicle. It will certainly last at least ten years or 150,000 miles (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-long-does-a-serpentine-drive-belt-last), whichever comes first. Nevertheless, belts...
car won't start even after taking it to the dealer
Did you mean to say "the alternator was charging as per the test" when you were relating the dealers comments? It is actually the alternator that charges the battery. I suspect the battery and alternator are really fine - and...
My car wont stay on
This may be related to a dirty or failing idle air control valve (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/idle-control-valve-replacement). The idle air control valve monitors the air intake as it is mixed with fuel prior to being injected into the engine at low speeds and...
No start fuel pump not priming during key on sequence also tach is not moving when cranking
Its doubtful that the crankshaft sensor is to blame. The crankshaft sensor is used by the powertrain control module (PCM) to determine injector pulse and ignition timing, not fuel pump operation. The camshaft sensor is used to computer fuel injector...
Transmission will not sift up from low
What you are describing may be a sign of low transmission fluid (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/transmission-fluid-service) or a faulty transmission control solenoid. As you know, automatic transmissions use pressurized hydraulic fluid to change gears. Every time a gear change is required, the car's...
No compression cylinder 1, car shakes/vibrates and runs rough, decreased gas mileage.
Yes, absolutely, rebuild or replace the engine. The vehicle itself is a recent model year so your least cost option will be to repair what you have. And, you're right, "re-sale value" is irrelevant in the calculation (good for you!)....
