Q: I have a 2002 ford mustang can I just replace the ball joint or do I have to replace the control arm also

I need a ball joint I don't know if I can just replace the ball joint by itself cause I don't know how mines is made, so can I just replace the ball joint or do I need to replace the control arm with it.
