Q: I have a 1998 Volkswagen GTI VR6 idles at 900rpm but when I hit 2k rmp it kicks until I shift gears then keeps kicking at 2k

asked by on September 19, 2017

The car idled at around 800-900 rpms but when I start driving as soon as I hit 2000 rpms it kicks and doesn't let me accelerate almost as if it's stalling but it doesn't until I shift to the next gear but if I hit 2000 again it'll do the same thing but if I keep the car running under 2000 it'll run just fine

My car has 176000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.
