Q: I have a 1998 dodge Ram 1500 5.2 v8, seems to be in limp mode. Changed the gov solenoid no engine light now but still not shifting

Vehicle had a check engine light and went into limp mode. Won't shift passed second gear and revs at high rpm. Changed the fluids and the gov solenoid and the engine light is no longer on but it's still not shifting. The cat is getting much hotter than normal
