Q: I have a,1997 Hinds accord and when I start the engine it starts but then the shift will not shift to park or reverse.
Yesterday I picked up my niece and her friends from the theater. So we end up going to McDonald's and I parked so we went inside to eat. After we finished, we were getting ready to head home. I started the engine, shift to reverse but couldn't as if it's stuck or something. I shift it to Neutral and the car reversed because it was a uphilll. I was able to shift it to Drive and drove everyone back home. It won't shift to Park and Reverse so I leave it on Neutral and pull the Emergency Break and turn off the engine.
My car has 172000 miles.
