I have a 1981 e-350 with dual fuel tanks the p.o. added a third tank and 3 electric fuel pumps along with sepparate gauges and switches for each tank...I disconnected them and ran new hose to the added tank and a low pressure fuel regulator(without a fuel return line), I could not find the tank selector anywhere in the old fuel lines and would like to remove the third tank and run the fuel system stock...question: Should I add a fuel return line and where should the fuel selector be located in the fuel system?

(the fuel selector I'm talking about retails over $100, not the switch under the dash)

My car has 90000 miles.
