Q: I am not getting any power when I turn the key to the on position. there is no dash lights only check engine lite comes on.

I am not getting any power when i turn the key to the on position. there is no dash lights only check engine lite comes on.I tried it with a New battery and it did the same. When the key is in the off position when I turn on the lights the lights don't come on just the check engine light on inside. And with the key on the off position I can push on the brakes and everytime I press on the brakes check engine light comes on and then when I let off the brakes it goes off
