Q: How to fix shift lock release

asked by on March 08, 2018

Hi recently I stopped by autozone they used their OBD to see why the check engine light was on. It said code P0720. So there is something going on with the output speed sensor or the circuit. So the gear shifter recently has been having difficulty switching sometimes we wait for 10 minutes to move. So we began using the shift override slot and today I used a sharp object to push it down. And it got stuck down. So it shifts easier but I’m sure it’s not good that it’s broken. What should we do ?

My car has 214072 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
