How should seat belts be worn by pregnant women?

For pregnant women driving or riding in a Nissan Altima, the position of the belt is of significant importance. While the right position will help you stay safe in the event of an accident, the wrong position could cause injuries. Here’s what to know:

  1. Position the lap belt so that it crosses your hips under your belly.

  2. Position the shoulder belt so that it curves above the belly, up your chest and then over your shoulder.

Tip

Never wear a lap belt over your stomach.
