How should pregnant women wear the seat belt?

Like every other driver or passenger, pregnant women must wear their seat belts while the vehicle is in motion. However, the belt needs to be situated correctly to accommodate for the pregnancy and avoid potential injury to mom or the baby. Here’s how:

  • The lap belt should sit over your hips, under your stomach. Do not put the lap belt over your stomach.

  • The shoulder belt should run across your chest and to the side of your stomach. It should sit on your shoulder, but not touch your neck.
