How should pregnant women wear a seat belt?

Pregnant drivers and passengers must wear seat belts like anyone else in a car, but it’s important that they be worn correctly to ensure safety.

  • Position the lap belt as close to your hips as possible, under your belly button.

  • Make sure the shoulder belt sits snugly across your chest.

Additionally, pregnant women should sit as far back from the steering wheel or dash as possible to avoid injury from an air bag deploying during an accident.
