Q: how do I disconnect hood stand on toyota camry?

asked by on

The hood is heavy and bulky so it has to be securely supported if you remove either of the gas charged cylinders that support the weight. To remove the cylinder assembly, you unbolt the bracket at each end of the support. The bolts are probably 8 mm requiring a 10 mm hex head socket. YourMechanic does offer mobile replacement of these gas charged cylinders. If you desire that service, performed right at your location, please refer to YourMechanic’s hood support service request page and the responding certified mechanic will get any required repair or replacement taken care of for you promptly. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.
