Q: How can I be sure its my fuel pump that went out not my fuel filter acting up

asked by on December 20, 2016

I have a 2001 ford f150 that I have been having trouble with. It started acting up about two weeks ago and now I can not get to it start. It turns over just will not crank. Through out the two weeks it would stop cranking and then it would. My questions is how do I know its my fuel pump and not my filter?
My car has an automatic transmission.

My car feels like the brakes are engaging on their own when I am driving
This is normally due to brake calipers (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/brake-caliper-replacement) sticking. I would recommend having a brake inspection (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/brakes-steering-and-suspension-inspection) performed to determine the exact cause of this issue. Consider YourMechanic as this can be done at your home or office.
