We were driving and all of a sudden our car died. Now it will crank but will not start. We replaced the alternator and got a new bbatery, what else could it be?
Hi Ashley. When a car is driving down the road and suddenly looses power, it can be caused by a few different things. Usually, this will not be a battery issue. If you’re able to turn the key and it cranks over but does not start - the battery is OK. It’s more likely that an ignition or fuel system component is damaged - perhaps a fuel pump, crankshaft sensor or cam sensor. Since there are multiple possible sources, you might want to have a professional mobile mechanic come to your location to complete a car is hard to start inspection, so they can determine what is causing this problem and recommend or complete the right repairs.
