4 runner was not cycling rpm as expected with higher speed. Above 40mph had loud tire like noise. Brought in for diagnosis. Told left front wheel bearing had play and unsafe. (Made mistake if not staying with mechanic for repairs AND not asking for old parts). Ok'd repairs. Then called by mechanic after this was done and told left rear wheel bearings had to be replaced too. Told that the left rear was making a noise that couldn't be heard until after the left front replaced. Well, 2 wheel bearings on same side with such low mileage? I declined left rear bearing repair. Drove vehicle home and it sounded and performed the same. Is there anyway I could know for sure if left front bearing replaced legitamately? Later got rear front bearings replaced and rpm cycling properly and not noisy any longer either.
