Q: Goes from 1500 to 3000 rpms randomly

The rpms go from 1500 to 3000 randomly in gear and in neutral and the transmission fluid is overfull

My car has 246000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hello there, a few different components can cause the vehicle to have a fluctuating idle. The most common would be the MAF sensor, a vacuum leak, exhaust leak, oxygen sensor or the idle air control valve.
