Hi there. Your gas gauge is connected to your fuel pump in your gas tank. It works off a float to read gas level which signals a resistor to display your amount of fuel. This resistor is called the fuel sending unit. A mechanic from YourMechanic can be sent to your residence for precise diagnosis, and replacement of your fuel sender unit if necessary.
