Q: Fuel tank door not opening

asked by on

The door to the fuel tank will not open.

Fuel tank doors are released via a cable that is connected to the release handle. If the handle or the cable breaks the door will not open. The cable is typically routed under the carpet along the floor kick plates. A mechanic will be able to determine why the fuel door won’t open and replace the cable, or release handle if necessary. Sometimes the gas tank cover simply needs an adjustment to release properly.
