Q: Front end rattle when going over bumps in a 2010 Milan Hybrid. Also drifts left noticeably on flat road. Are the two related?

asked by on March 30, 2017

I've owned my 2010 Milan Hybrid Premiere for about 6 months now, and I'm not completely familiar with the type of suspension on this car. (Newest car I've ever owned) When I test drove the car and for the first three months there was no rattle. Now I am getting a front end rattle when going over bumps, like turning into my driveway, or going over the seams in a parking garage I hear a mechanical rattle. Also drifts left noticeably on flat road. There seems to be no steering control loss or play in the steering wheel, still handles well. Haven't noticed any uneven tread wear either. What is the cause. Are the two related?

My car has 84000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

The orange warning triangle typically has to do with a traction and/or stability control system fault (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/traction-control-light-is-on-inspection).
