Q: Fast clicking sound when trying to start

asked by on October 05, 2017

Had problems starting my car for a while but I changed the alternator a few weeks ago and it's been all good ever since until this morning. It makes a fast clicking noise right away or turns over very slowly a couple times then goes to the fast clicking. I drained the battery completely so I hooked up the charger and couldn't get anything so I just got a new battery. It lights right up now but still does the fast clicking. I actually got it to fully start once just now but it died within a second or so. Not sure what to look at next, open to suggestions, thanks.

My car has 105000 miles.
